Strange Waterbed

January 20, 2020

I tried to draw a picture,

Of a place I’ve never seen.

A place I never want to go,

A place I’ve never been.

Sunlight in the morning,

Dancing with the dust.

Floating all alone,

Someplace that I don’t trust.

The coffee shop is waiting for me,

Maybe for the last time.

Emerges from another room,

Never meets my eye.

Welcome chill of fall,

Colouring my face,

Wind feels cleansing,

Invisible embrace.

Will never hear the other side,

I barely know my own.

There is power in being open about our myriad life experiences. The heart-wrenching, the impactful, the confusing, the beautiful, the infuriating. There is nothing more important in life that connecting with others. And sharing your heart.
